Being of Service

How do you be of service? Service can come in many different forms. I was reminded today that one of my first forms of service was simply to put chairs away. You see, I was too scared to talk to people, had no clue how to operate a coffee machine, and didn’t know the difference from the 12 & 12 and a pamphlet. One thing I always made sure of was to make sure all the chairs were put away.

I figured some people were great talkers and welcomes and others were better at cleaning up. Each person, each specializing in what they were good at, comprised the whole.

Every single job is just as important as the other. Everyone depends on the person setting up the meetings, setting out literature, making coffee, secretaring, listening, cleaning up, being a treasurer,  GSR, or institution rep. No job is too small.
